*RESPONSIBLE COOPERATIVE MINING TEAM ENGAGES SEFWI ENCHI COMMUNITIES ON SUSTAINABLE MINING PRACTICES*
The Responsible Cooperative Mining and Skills Development Team, led by Deputy National Coordinator Mr. George Dadzie Jnr, has engaged the people of Sefwi Enchi and surrounding communities in a stakeholder meeting focused on promoting responsible and sustainable mining practices and enhancing skills development among local residents.
The meeting aimed to educate and empower mining communities on responsible mining methods that preserve the environment and contribute to local and national development. Mr. Dadzie Jnr emphasized the need for miners to adopt practices that safeguard the environment, protect water bodies, and ensure safety and well-being.
The team also highlighted skills development opportunities for youth and women, including technical and entrepreneurial training to create sustainable jobs and alternative livelihoods. The Western North Regional Minister and District Chief Executive of Enchi commended the initiative, noting responsible mining can bring lasting benefits to local communities.
A site inspection followed the meeting, allowing technical experts to assess the proposed mining area and ensure future operations align with responsible and sustainable mining standards.
The engagement reflects the government's commitment to harnessing Ghana's natural resources responsibly, equitably, and sustainably for future generations.
